Accelerated learning is based on applying brain research to the field of education and life long learning. It is designed to improve, increase and help develop the learning processes for everyone from pre- school children to the elderly. The purpose of accelerated learning is to take the ways we naturally learn and combine them with active learning methods that involve the whole person in the learning process to increase effectiveness. When a person learns through more traditional learning methods their brain is not used to its full potential. Accelerated learning techniques engage the whole person with physical activity and use of the five senses.

Brain research and education proves that people learn in different ways but that everyone can learn better by being more engaged in the learning process. Accelerated learning takes the advances of brain research and brings accelerated learning techniques to educators and classrooms everywhere. The research explains that neurons are the building blocks of the brain and that educators can focus on identifying, assessing and connecting those neurons by engaging pre-existing neuronal networks in different areas of the brain, making learning faster than through traditional lecture or hands-on instruction alone.

Accelerated learning techniques formed from brain research and education reports focuses on the relationship between the brain and the body. In learning, this is the relationship of sensory input and memory including emphasis on the core information the brain receives from the eyes, ears and touch. Curriculums at all levels of education should emphasize and create opportunities for a balanced approach between traditional teaching approaches and new approaches built upon existing knowledge and understanding. With a working knowledge of the brain, educators can increase student memory along with verbal, auditory, tactile, and visual learning. With a balance of hands-on teaching and the lecture method, educators can not only help the development of neural networks in the brain, but also boost the physical bases of learning and the mind-body connection.

Some of the necessary components for accelerated learning to take place successfully include a positive learning environment, involvement from the learner, collaboration between students, variety for all learning styles, and contextual learning. Accelerated learning is not solely used to help people learn faster, it is also used as a motivational tool for people with different learning styles to improve their curiosity and satisfaction with the learning process.

Companies and organizations also use accelerated learning to their advantage. With better memory techniques, businesses are benefiting from the ability to learn a new language faster while also flourishing with a sharper workforce. Accelerated learning is a system and a process that benefits everybody because it achieves real results. Whether you want to help your young child develop a stronger learning ability, enhance your company’s progress, or boost your own memory, accelerated learning can be used for multiple benefits. Research has gotten us this far, and now you can use it to boost your mind and improve your life.

In this article you are going to discover flamenco guitar. Let’s get straight to it.

This style is becoming increasingly popular. The virtuosos Rodrigo y Gabriela are to be credited for this revival. This duo incorporates elements of flamenco guitar in their guitar playing. They even played their own unique rendition of – Stairway to heaven’.Their style of guitar playing relies heavily on improvisation. This Mexican duo are known for playing fast and rhythmic acoustic guitar. Guitar tapping is one of their trademarks.

      A brief history:

The origin of flamenco guitar as we know it today dates back to the 18th century in Andulasia(Spain). The music evolved from the Gypsies and Andulasian musicians sharing their talents. It’s defined by its trademark rhythmic , melodic and harmonic elements. It is known for the accompanying dance, the rhythm of movement. Ramon Montoya is considered to the founding father of modern flamenco solo guitar. He lived from 1880-1949. He had a great impact on the genre.

      The most famous craftsman:

Antonio de Torres is credited with the development of the flamenco guitar in the 1850’s. He built quality guitars for the aristocrats and poor travelling musicians. When de Torres built his guitars, they were characterized by 6 strings tuned with wooden pegs, and a body that’s smaller than a classical guitar. Spanish cypress was used for the back and sides. Up to this day they use cypress to construct guitars. It’s a low action guitar, with the strings closer to the frets to enable fast fingering and a narrow fingerboard. A tap plate protects the face from the tapping and slapping by the guitar players’ right-hand fingernails. Some guitarists prefer the depth of the classical guitar when playing solos.

      Famous musicians:

Paco de Lucia is one of the most popular modern flamenco guitar players. His style sometimes crosses over to jazz. Jazz and flamenco share the mutual element of improvisation . Another famous guitarist is Jose Feliciano. This blind musician played many flamenco songs.

Learning How to Write: Point of View for Children’s Books!

        Saturday, February 6th, 2010No Commented
        Categorized Under: Learning

Point of view would be one of the most important aspects when learning how to write a children’s book, whether you are creating a picture book for emerging readers or chapter books for older children. If you do not choose the correct point of view of the character or the correct viewpoint, you could completely lose your readers. Also, if the language and overall voice does not match that of the point of view of your character your story as a whole will fail to reach the reader.

Point of view in fiction is simply refereed to as the voice your readers will hear speaking to them as they read. This could be a specific character in the story or a know-it-all narrator who can report on anything from any angle.

When learning to write for young readers, it is best to stick with the voice of the central character that the readers are more likely to connect with. Learning how to write for older children allows more freedom and creativity to play with in terms of point of view, including the option of combining multiple viewpoints within a single story. Older readers are also more capable of following omniscient narrators who tell the story from various characters perspectives from one scene to another.

Picking a Point of View Character

There are several factors to consider when determining which character or narrator should be telling your story:

        1. Is there one particular character the intended reader is more likely to connect with?

        2. Who is in the best position to tell the story based on their knowledge of the people and events happening?

        3. Would an omniscient narrator make the story easier or more difficult to follow?

        4. Are there multiple characters who could share the storyline without it becoming confusing?

Younger readers tend to prefer stories told in first person where a character is telling a rather straight forward story about their own life, but this is not always the best way to tackle the story. Some stories can be better off told from the perspective of someone not directly linked or involved in the action of the story.

        Picking a Point of View

First person stories use the word "I" and tell the story directly from the mouth of one main character. All details of the story must come from what that one character knows or thinks, so you cannot go into the heads of other characters.

Stories in second person are those that narrate from an objective narrator, who has limited access to a particular character’s point of view. So, you are essentially still telling the story from the perspective of one character but the language uses "she/he" so the story is told with more detachment from the characters.

Those stories with a lot of characters and action could be better told from a third person omniscient, which is a narrator who knows everything about everybody and can enter any character’s head at any time.

        Intended Readers

It is tempting to mix different point of views when first learning how to write, switching from one scene or chapter to another. This is appropriate for older readers, but many beginning readers will have a difficult time following those switches and knowing who is speaking to them.

This is why it is extremely important to know who your intended reader is before you start and keep them in mind at all times as you are learning how to write for children.

Children’s books should be written with a child in mind. Learning how to write specifically for children shouldn’t be a difficult task. What Does Equine Facilitated Learning And Coaching Mean?

Finding the right words to express the special way that horses help humans to grow their awareness has been a thought provoking process. Equine Facilitated Learning and Coaching (EFLC) includes the horse and the human as partners in providing personal and professional growth experiences for individuals and groups.

Let’s reflected on the meaning of each word:

          Equine – Horse

Facilitate – to make easier or less difficult, to help forward (an action, a process, etc.), and to assist the progress of (a person).

Learning – the acquisition and development of memories and behaviors, including skills, knowledge, understanding, values, and wisdom. It is the product of experience and the goal of education. Learning ranges from simple forms of learning such as habituation and classical conditioning seen in many animal species, to more complex activities such as play, seen only in relatively intelligent animals.

Coaching – a form of communication that provides exploration, insight, clarity and direction for a person, or group of people, to enhance and succeed in personal or professional advancement and achievement.

As you can see a horse in its natural state of being is a mirror and teacher for humans. Through interacting with horses in a setting that encourages awareness of body, mind and spirit, learning is achieved for the human. Clients gain new skills, knowledge, behaviors and understanding about self and others. The coach (human) through a coaching conversation (after the session) helps the client apply the learning into other areas of their life.

Equine Facilitated Learning and Coaching is based in the philosophy that through interacting and creating relationships with horses a person may explore and learn new ways of understanding how they interface with the world around them. Horses are non-judgmental beings that facilitate learning in a positive and immediate manner. It is often easier to learn a life lesson from a 1,000 pound horse, than through a friend, supervisor or business partner. There are no pre-established judgments or defensive posturing that often block learning experiences with our human counterparts. During sessions with horses, the horse’s nature brings to the surface aspects of the client (behaviors, habits, skill levels) that they may have previously been unaware of. Once the person reaches new levels of awareness of self, higher levels of trust, intimacy and respect are reached with the horse. The learning happens on a visceral experience and lodges deeply into the memory cells of the body. Through understanding the horse and the horse’s nature, and learning in the moment how to best communicate with horses, the human’s growth is exponential. It is only through great levels of understanding and mutual acceptance and awareness that higher more intelligence levels of communication such a play can emerge.

Equine Facilitated Learning & Coaching programs that can offer this experience will honor the horse for the teachings they provide for the client and offer addition support through a coaching conversation. An experienced trained coach has the conversation and communication skills and tools to help the client have a full understanding of their equine experience and how to apply that experience into their everyday life.

Create a Learning Plan for Employees

Today’s business environment is based on ‘knowledge’ and creating a learning culture is critical for the continued growth of a business. What does that mean in managing employees – you have to promote learning for yourself and your employees.

Companies that support continuous learning are usually successful because training affects the bottom line of a business.

Since there is a shortage of talent with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet business demands, why not take your internal talent and grow them. Compensation is important but if you follow employee surveys, you will find that ‘learning’ is critical to an employee’s satisfaction and to the overall retention within a company.

Manager’s first reaction to providing training is that the employee will then move on to another company. We know that long-term loyalty is not offered by employee or employer, so the goal is to maintain higher retention levels for the effectiveness of the business. Training is one tool that works.

Employees respond favorably to employers who provide advance training. Just make sure that the training can be applied to your specific business. Guide your employees in their training efforts by informing them of the business goals so they can make suitable educational choices.

The ‘x’ and ‘y’ generations expect to be challenged and look for opportunities to develop their careers through new projects, promotions and access to formal learning benefits. Employees want the certificates and advanced degrees and are willing to do the work and consider training a required benefit to working at a company. They recognize that advance education is critical to their future employment.

            ==>What needs to be done?

**Create for each employee a ‘learning’ plan based on his or her current roles as well as their career growth within the organization.

**If you don’t have the budget to provide a tuition-reimbursement program to your employees, spend time brainstorming on how to create your company’s ‘learning’ culture.

Here are some ideas that you can start your brainstorming with:

            ==>Internal Learning

**Business knowledge – create a training that presents the business basics so each employee can understand how their responsibilities support the business.

**Career paths – yearly review of the employee’s career growth within the company.

**In-House Training – subject matter experts can share their expertise to build and enhance the depth of industry knowledge within the company.

**Library – build the company library by creating a book allowance. You can allocate a certain amount for each employee to spend each year for business-related reading materials. They would have to put in a ‘book request’ with justification. You reimburse the employee for the book and then add it to the company library. This way you encourage your employees to build their industry knowledge as well as add to the library so others can increase their knowledge.

**Mentoring – this is a classic program that is part of succession as well as management training programs where you partner strong performers with more senior management to learn the ‘ropes’ of the business.

**Stretch projects – provide employees with ’stretch’ opportunities with project or leadership work.

**Subscriptions – bring in appropriate business related magazines or journals for the continuous growth of employees.

**Training Manuals – create appropriate learning manuals for specific procedures within the organization.

**New Employee Training Programs – this is critical in the success of an employee. Even if you are a small company, have a program in place that successfully integrates the new employee into the work environment.

            ==>External Learning

**Formal educational resources – colleges and universities

**Professional organizations offer specific classes on industry information

**Business organizations – For example, American Management Association

            **E-learning training on specific topics

**Online degree programs are providing advanced degrees to meet the demands of time and information intensive environments.

            ==>Note:

If there is a performance-related issue, sending someone out to a training session may or may not be the answer. What is critical in creating a ‘learning’ plan is that the training matches the individual. Performance-based issues can be attributed to a lack of knowledge, interest or an inability to perform the essential functions of the job. So use your training efforts and dollars wisely.

            ==>Final Thought

Make learning and development part of your conversations with your staff. Even if your employees are non-exempt, encourage them to take on more challenges, to increase the quality of their work and to learn something new.

Continuous learning keeps the employee fresh and interested in their performance. Otherwise, they become stale in their work and performance becomes ‘average’ or ‘mediocre.’ Every employee influences the bottom line.

The Importance of Learning to Write Articles to Promote your Online Business

                Monday, February 1st, 2010No Commented
                Categorized Under: Learning

If you learn how to write articles to promote your online business, then you will have a powerful marketing tool at your disposal. Article marketing is a very effective promotional technique these days, and is now one of the preferred methods of promoting your business. In fact, if you don’t submit articles that are related to you niche or your product to article directories, you are losing out on a large number of potential customers.

Not only are your articles read, contrary to what some who are ignorant of the effectiveness of the technique might tell you, but they are read over a long period of time. A typical article of mine will have received around 250 reads about two weeks after submission, but over 2,000 after several months. That is one article. Think your potential custom if you wrote two or three articles every week.

It doesn’t take long: I can write three top class articles every hour. Don’t believe those that tell you they can write an article in 10 or 15 minutes – they are either lying, or are writing shallow articles that will impress nobody. For real success in article marketing you have to know how to write articles that look professional, are grammatically as near perfect as you can get and provide real information.

Yes, I too have read that grammar doesn’t matter as long as you get the message across. Bullshit! Would you want to visit the website of somebody that cannot write properly without making schoolboy bloomers – articles that display a distinct lack of knowledge of the English language?

Don’t tell me that English might not be their first language! Mostly it is, but if not then they should employ a ghostwriter than can write grammatically (that one word is correct). I wouldn’t dream of trying to write an article in any language but my own, and had I the need to publish one in another language, I would employ a native of that country to write it for me. It is that attention to detail that instills confidence.

I won’t buy from you, or even visit your website, if you won’t take the trouble to make sure that I can understand what you are writing in my language. It is very important, which is why you should employ a ghostwriter if you cannot write in grammatical English yourself.

However, language aside, there is another way to offer your customers good looking articles without the ongoing expense of a ghostwriter. You can learn how to write articles yourself. You will then be able to write when needed, such as when you require a boost of traffic, or when you see your Google PageRank dropping a bit. You can easily give both a good boost with a few well-written articles submitted to the top 20 or more article directories.

If anybody tells you that only need to submit to one, they are either lying or need some instruction themselves. Article marketing is a skill that has to be learned, but once you understand it, and have learned how to write articles and use them to their maximum advantage, you will never look back.

OK, lots of people can write, but most of the articles they write are pathetic. That requires a special skill to be done properly, and that is a skill that can be taught. How to choose the right keywords, for example, and then how to use them to construct a compelling title.

After the title, the first paragraph is critical, and then you have to follow the theme without over-use of the principal keyword. The final paragraph is equally crucial, and the resource is the crux of entire article: without a great resource you might as well not bother writing the article.

The resource is so undervalued by most people, that even ghostwriters don’t include it in their service. That is unbelievable ignorance and a total misunderstanding of what article writing for the purpose of article marketing is all about!

If you take the time and effort to learn how to go about writing articles for publication, learn the relative importance of element of the articles and how write them for maximum effect, and how to make sure that your articles are submitted to the right directories then you will have done all that you can do to promote your website.

Add to that a resource that will compel readers to click on to the web page you have chosen as the target in each article, then you should be successful in driving masses of traffic to your site, both by means of direct readers of your articles, and of the listings that your articles will get on Google and the other search engines as pages on highly ranked article directories.

These factors combine to underline the importance of using article marketing to promote your online business, and learning how to write articles properly, and how to use them to their utmost effect in promoting your online business and driving traffic to your website, will be crucial if you are to achieve the maximum success of which you are capable.

You will learn how to write articles in such a way that readers will be compelled to visit your website, and also how to submit them to the best article directories, at http://www.articleczar.com – don’t miss your chance to master what is taking over from normal SEO as the primary online advertising technique.

                Learning From Affiliate Marketing Mistakes

                  Monday, February 1st, 2010No Commented
                  Categorized Under: Learning

One can be led believe while on way home, or simply being at home. Scams, frauds and myths are common everywhere. If it’s rampant on the internet, it is also existent in any place imaginable.

Everyone commits mistakes. To err is indeed human; otherwise, one does not have to be born again. However, this should not be made as an excuse in further moving on or achieving goals. Everyone must proceed after the fall. Remaining stuck for a long period of time is unproductive and wastes so much time. Opportunities are missed, and this is the most unpleasant punishment of failing to move on.

All affiliates, even super affiliates, experience falling out because of indecision, excitement, or ignorance. Myths concerning affiliate marketing are appealing and attractive; and this is where most affiliates fall. Affiliates who do not have enough knowledge on the entire system are prone to believe that affiliate marketing will give them great fortune overnight. Stories concerning affiliates who earn tremendous amounts of money swim in their heads, and while these stories are as true as they can be, there are those who believe that they are going to have the same fortune once they indulge in this particular business.

Enormous income is very possible. It has been proven by the few who boldly traveled the long and test-filled road. Many of these few people enjoy the kind of existence that was not possible for them to have had under ordinary circumstances. They have gone through it and they are now continuously reaping the good seeds they sowed. They now know that while affiliate marketing is such a lucrative business, there is absolutely no easy money in it.

Those who believe in myths concerning the easy money involved in systems such as affiliate marketing are those who have wasted time, effort and too many resources in trying to pursue the life of ease that they believe this business will give them. They go into affiliate marketing armed with nothing but myths and fantastical notions of wealth swimming in their consciousness.

The eye-catching ad on easy money in affiliate marketing only catches the eyes of the ignorant. Money is elusive. The one who gets tempted to it is the one who reaps failure out of it. It does not mean embracing poverty or the lack of money. Remember that successful internet marketers have good perception about money and a deep prosperity and wealth consciousness. That is why, as an affiliate marketer, do not ever chase money, especially easy money. The only way to catch it is by letting it chase you. When it happens, slow down to catch it and allow it flow.
How do you make money chase you? To answer this, you need to discover the most common mistakes affiliates make, and then correct some wrong notions about it. These two processes can perhaps dispel the gloom about myths surrounding affiliate marketing.

The first common mistake affiliates make is their lack of knowledge concerning principles involved in their business. This refers to the affiliate’s knowledge of search engines in particular. Affiliate marketing involves advertising, and advertising through the internet could not have been better without the existence of search engines. What every affiliate has to do is to make these search engines his best friend through studying search engine optimization closely. This way, he is able to know what to do in connection with building a better website to ultimately use for his business.

The second most common mistake is stuffing their sites with banners that do not provide enough information about the product at hand. Correct this mistake by providing good content hand-in-hand with such banners. Customers need to know and understand the features of a product, and good content will be able to provide this purpose.

The third mistake is that of promoting only one product. This limits the options that customers can choose from. There is also the risk of generating fewer sales as compared to having more options for customers to ponder about. It is always better to give them a few better alternatives than to give them only one.

The fourth, and is the inverse of the third, is that of promoting too many products. This tends to confuse the customers and end up making no choice. It is perhaps good to give them only the best choices. This is because it is ultimately up to them to judge which one is the best for them to patronize.

There are still other mistakes affiliates often make; but the point is, you need to focus on learning from the mistakes first before seeing the money flow to you constantly. The affiliate who is prepared to remove the blocks along the way has the better chance to succeed. Exert enough effort to understand everything involved in the industry that you are in. Knowing the path step by careful step will prove to be beneficial to you, as there is no other way to succeed than to go through any path slowly but surely.

When I was first presented with a free work from home business opportunity in my mid 20s, I was elated, but clueless about internet marketing.

Finding Your Way Through The Maze

Unfortunately, I couldn’t avoid the nasty learning curve of affiliate marketing. But I can help you avoid that same learning curve, by teaching you what to look for in a free home business opportunity ad online.

I wish someone would have provided me with a free money making guide when I first started affiliate marketing a year ago. It would have saved me $1,000s in wasted money and time. I easily got swayed by every shiny new thing that came out online. Months later I was still broke.

If you’ve ever wanted a step-by-step free money making guide that would spare you the same agony, loss of time and money that I suffered by showing you ways to avoid the traps of falling for every get rich quick ad online, buying the next big "secret" to online riches, yadda yadda, then this article is for you.

Following a well put together, free or low cost money making guide should be required reading for all new affiliate marketers.

But not having any money or any experience on the internet, I knew I would need a proven money making system to teach me how to do it. I hated working for other people. Worse, I hated getting scammed by all the ads online that boasted of free work from home business opportunity.

Falling For Every Scam Online – What to Look For

But let’s back track for a second. So what stopped me from acting on my lifelong dream of being my own boss? For starters, I was terrified of failing and worse, I was terrified of succeeding.

So it was easier to not take any sort of action. I continued to drown in the quicksand known as Corporate America for the next 10 years, until I got fired in November 2008 for the last time.

I fell for every free work at home business opportunity scam there is online. Embarrassed, and almost ready to quit, I learned how to spot and stay away from scams. More importantly, I figured out what a good work from home business oppurtunity plan should entail.

                    1. A clear, day to day action plan

                    2. An easy way to promote your affiliate product

                    3. Provide at least one free method to promote your product

                    4. Step by Step instructions

                    5. One on One Coaching

My experience has shown that having all of these five elements in a free work from home business opportunity guide will catapult your online business to success in a very short time.

Three vocabulary tools for learning foreign languages

Studying and acquiring new vocabulary is a major challenge when learning a second language. You start your studies knowing that you have already learned a substantial amount of vocabulary in your first language without making a major effort. You can do it again in a new language. We would like to propose three tools to help you to learn and remember vocabulary in your second language.

The first tool that you might find helpful is simply writing down new vocabulary and creating cohort groups. While the examples here are for English, the techniques apply to all languages. Suppose we start with the word bark, which has two meanings. One bark would fit into the animal sounds cohort group. The other bark is the outside of a tree trunk. You could write the second bark in the tree cohort group.

Let’s try another word: violet. You put violet into the color cohort group. Violet has another meaning, a flower. You put violet into a second group, the flower cohort group.

Imagine you have six dozen cohort groups. You have groups for trees, colors, foods, animal sounds, emotions, clothing. The list is endless. All this grouping takes time. Learning a language takes time.

You can set up your cohort groups in a number of ways. You can make cohort lists on your computer. You can make cohort lists on pieces of paper. One approach is writing each word on a piece of paper and then sorting the pieces of paper into their cohort groups. As you sort the pieces of paper into their cohort groups, remember to say the word out loud, and if you can, you should use the word in a sentence.

Learning new words is time consuming. You need to be industrious. This is where cohort groups get more complicated. Suppose you write industrious on a piece of paper, and create a new cohort group: the busy group. If you create the busy cohort group, you need to create the not busy cohort group. Words such as productive, diligent, industrious, energetic and studious fit into the busy cohort group.

Next you’ll want to put words on pieces of paper to sort into the not busy cohort group. For the not busy group, you’ll want slacker, lazy, loafer, sluggish and laidback.

In addition to creating cohort groups, another tool you could try for remembering new vocabulary words is diagramming. One diagramming approach is sorting words into places on a spectrum. Suppose you take all the busy and not busy words that you already have on small pieces of paper. You have energetic, diligent, sluggish, productive, studious, industrious, slacker, lazy, loafer and laidback. If you were to sort these words from the least busy to the busiest, you would have to spend some time thinking about the meaning of each word, moving each word around on the spectrum, saying each word out loud, and using each word in a sentence. I suspect after writing these words down and sorting, you would have a good start to mastering these words sufficiently so that you could understand them when you hear them and use them.

A third tool for remembering new vocabulary is visual images. Suppose you want to remember the word violet. You could create a mental image of an iris. You would see the iris in your mind’s eye and think violet. With visual imaging, you might want to think of two words together, such as violet and violin. You might see yourself playing a violet violin. A visual image of a violet violin might help you to retain both violet and violin.

Visual images, diagramming and cohort groups help you to remember new words because you are linking new vocabulary to something else. Remembering is an easier task when something not yet known is linked with something known. The something known could be already learned words or a visual image. Linking new vocabulary words to already known items in picture form will help you to remember new vocabulary.

You probably already know how you learn best. Some of us learn best when we create visual images while some of us learn best when we do something with our hands. You may discover that combining visual images and diagramming with a pencil enables you to remember better than another approach. You may discover that using a pencil and paper helps you to remember better than using a keyboard and computer.

Learning a new language demands diligence and steady effort. Many people start to learn languages, never moving beyond knowing enough to order food in a restaurant and ask where the hotel is. No matter what your goal, these tools – sorting into cohort groups, arranging spectrums and visualizing images – will help you to steadily progress in your language learning.
